About the role
💥Your mission as a Vita Mojo Group Financial Controller is to is to lead the financial operations of the business; overseeing all aspects of the core financial processes, cash management, international expansion and global compliance.
This individual will take on all aspects of financial control, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Your duties will also include financial risk management, particularly as the business grows and expands into new geographical areas.
The day-to-day
Working in a scaleup means that things often change and we adapt to the growing and changing needs of the business. We expect the below to be the bulk of the role, but this may change over time depending on your own development needs, aspirations and the makeup of the team.
🙌🏼 Operations
- Management of the Financial Control team including support and guidance to help them develop into exceptional colleagues both technically but also as business partners.
- End to end cash management from control of debtors, payables but also cash forecasting and identification of trends and variances that will affect our cash focus.
- Supervision of all statutory returns for all three entities.
- Constantly reviewing the Finance processes and systems, ensuring they deliver optimum efficiency and automation of day to day tasks
- Ownership of the audit globally
📈 Reporting
- Supervision, review of and commentary on all monthly reporting (targets, flash results, management accounts, etc.) prepared by the team.
- Distribution of monthly reporting to C-suite, board and investors by working day 5.
- Business partnering to ensure that all budget holders of both revenue and costs understand their progress against targets, two way conversations and support of the business leaders at all times
- Own the annual statutory accounts (and audit) process as well as the R&D claim process.
- Work with external parties (auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, etc.) to ensure all statutory reporting deadlines (accounts, corporation tax, annual payroll/ERS related returns, etc.) are met on an international basis.
🧩 Other
- Ownership of share options schemes (grants, exercises, working with lawyers, reporting to HMRC, etc.).
- Ownership of the risk management framework, identify risks and offsetting elements including ownership of the insurance broker and primary relationships
- Own the inter-company trading structure, design and implement international trading agreements between subsidiaries to maximise returns and minimise risks
- Responsible for all payroll and commission calculations working with our people partners to deliver the right compensation at the right time
- Integrate acquisitions into the above framework.
- Management of covenants and reporting for debt providers
About you
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified professional with significant post qualified experience.
- Proven operational accounting experience from previous role within an internationally scaling organisation.
- Thorough understanding of what best in class systems, processes and controls look like.
- A focus on quality improvement and automation, a desire for continual improvement.
- A highly motivated, problem solver and with excellent attention to detail.
- Team player.
- Highly organised and consistent in delivering on strict reporting deadlines.
- Proven people leadership skills
- Developmental mindset for the team and themselves
It’d be a bonus if you:
- Experience in an international scale-up SaaS, Technology, FinTech or a similar industry in a high growth environment.
- A highly motivated, problem solver and with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders including those without a financial background.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build meaningful relationships with people of all levels across the entire business.
- Experience of managing covenant reporting to external debt providers

🌴 Your holidays. We believe in finding your work life alignment and want you to take advantage of your 25 days of leave, plus public holidays. Your holiday allowance increases after each complete calendar year of service, up to 28 days.
💚 Carer’s Leave. We understand life happens and you may need to take some time to support your loved ones. Whether that be looking after your sick dog, friends or family members. We offer one week (5 days) paid leave to all Mojis.
🐣 Welcoming a child into your life. We have enhanced Parental leave policies! Parental leave is offered to all Mojis after 3 months at the company. Parental leave is the collective term and includes maternity, paternity, adoption leave and surrogacy. Our leave policy is meant to help you navigate through this time as successfully as possible.
We recognise both the primary caregiver (the person who spends most time with the child) and the secondary (typically this is the non-birthing parent). Primary caregivers receive full pay for the first 16 weeks and 50% pay up to week 32.
Secondary caregivers receive full pay for the first 4 weeks and an additional 2 weeks after 36 months of continuous service. It's up to you when you start your leave, we are here to support you through the whole process.
🤒 Your health. We offer 10 days of full pay sick leave.
